About Us Tashi Lhunpo Monastery UK Trust Tashi Lhunpo Monastery UK Trust Tashi Lhunpo Monastery UK Trust Tashi Lhunpo Monastery UK Trust was founded in 2003 to support the work of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Exile. The Patron of the Trust is His Holiness the Dalai Lama. There are five Trustees, including HE Kelkhang Rinpoche, Secretary to the Monastery's Board of Management, and the Local Committee consists of the Administrators (Changtsoe) of the Monastery in India. The objectives of the Trust are to share the culture of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery with as wide an audience as possible in order to ensure its survival in exile, and to support the monks through offering donations towards their day to day expenses, medical care, education costs as required. The main work of the Trust is achieved through the organisation of regular tours of the UK and Europe during which the monks give performances of the masked dance and music of the monastery, run workshops and carry out Sand Mandala exhibitions, so sharing the culture and raising funds to support the monastery. The Trust also administers a sponsorship programme for supporters who wish to have a long-term association with the monastery and sometimes with a particular individual monk.
