As the number of monks wishing to join Tashi Lhunpo Monastery increases year by year, an increasing pressure is put on the existing accommodation. In 2007 alone, an additional 50 boys joined as members, and it is now urgently necessary to build additional hostels to avoid the health problems and other difficulties associated with overcrowding.
Each Hostel room costs £1,000 to build, and there are 20 rooms in each hostel, which includes two dormitories for the youngest boys and single or shared rooms for the more senior monks. The roof and veranda offer places for study. Toilets and shower facilities will be added to each hostel block.
To help provide the monks of Tashi Lhunpo with the accommodation they need, please consider giving a donation to this project by sending a cheque, made payable to Tashi Lhunpo Monastery UK Trust, and sending it to The Round House, Netton, Salisbury SP4 6AW.If you are a UK taxpayer, let us know as we can increase the value of your gift, and will send you the necessary form to complete.
